I'll start by saying that I know nothing about what goes into a drag bike especially cost. So thats why I'm asking. So is the SE-VROD really worth the 35k? or is it just a really big mark up on a bike that had some engine work? If you wanted to get into drag racing why would you want to buy this bike for 35k when you can buy a Hayabusa for around 10k toss on a wheelie bar and come pretty close to the claimed times HD is giving? Or for that matter why wouldn't you just buy a stock V-rod and take off a few parts add a wheelie bar and spend 5k in engine work. I guess to sum it all up is this bike really what it claims to be? |

There's going to be a specific AHDRA (sp) class just for the Destroyer. I think the advantage is that you can plunk down the $31,000 and have a bike that's ready to race (officially) against other people who run a similar rig. I don't think the people who'd buy this bike would even consider a Busa. You just walk into your dealership - plunk down the bucks and you're ready to go! If I had the $$$$ - I'd have one in a heartbeat! |

Try givin' Hal's speedshop a call, and see what they would get for a Vrod and similar setup. I'd be willing to guess it would be less than the "destroyer". But what do I know IIRC, Hals speed shop guys said they were getting 160HP out of their Vrods these days. |

The guys in our shop just did a street legal V Rod for a customer, they are at about 150 HP and it's still streetable, even has saddlebags on it! I think he's riding it to Sturgis. Could've got more with different pipes, he's running the regular SE slip ons. |

the v-rod motor will make all kinds of power if done up right. we had a bone stock except for pipes and fuel and dfo running 75 horses of nitrous fogged into the air box and pounded the sh$t out of it and still runs great. the new custom we did for a friend has a one of intake, exhaust remap and a few other tricks, plus this one also got the 75 horse shot direct injected about an inch above the valves. it screams to be beat like a dog. its running around 160 horse without the juice. look at the customer bike section for pics of it. www.legacynotorsportsinc.com |
