haha!! it was awesome! nothing like a free show of a classic band! i had the carne spit and a linguica samich, i had to pass on the favesh tho, gives me too much gas lol! the festa goes on till sunday tho, i'll proby go back saturday and get some malasadas. we poured madeira wine over the beef while we cooked it in the pit, tasted like ambrosia! will post pics soon! the band was great they had the whole crowd singin and dancin! |

Sounds like Sopas to me! The last Festa I went to was in Norwalk Ca. Almost as good as a Southern New England festa. More main landers than islanders. My folks are from Sao Miguel Azores. It's hard to beat those almond eyed, olived skinned Portuguese girls doing the dances (I wouldn't even try to spell the names of those things). |

you bet! portuguese girls are oh so beautiful! i married one, hehe! lots of azoreans over here. my wife and i go to the festa on marthas vineyard every year as well! i bought one of those little hats with the cord that sticks up like the dancers wear, i've been wanting one for years. i am marching in the blessed sacrament parade on sunday, i'll be sporting my new hat! will post pics as soon as i get them emailed to me from my buddy with the camera! |
