Has anyone used the Michelin Pilot Powers on their XB? How do they compare to stock Dunlops? Does anyone know how they compare to the Pirelli Diablos on the XB? | ||

Absolutely love them. Tons better than the stock tires. I have about 1500 miles on them so far. Wearing nicely. | ||

I believe that this item is well covered in the Knowledge Vault. Bottom line: Great tires for the Buell. I am on my second rear, got 4500 mi out of the first one. Front looks like it will last through two rears. I found handling to be greatly improved, as has virtually everyone else who has used these tires. Road Racing Magazine tested a bunch of sport tires, the Pilot Powers came out on top. If your mileage tends to include a lot of commuting on freeways, you might want to consider a higher mileage tire like the Pilot Roads, Conti Road Attacks, or Pirelli Diablo Stradas. Modern road tires have a prodigious amount of grip and great wear. I ride with a guy who has Conti Road Attacks on his Triumph Sprint, and he certainly doesn't look like he is having a traction problem, that's for darn sure:-) Lots of folks who use super sticky tires like the Pilot Powers never get them anywhere near their adhesion limits, and thus are paying twice as much for a feature they never use. Of course if you tear up the pavement, do track days and so forth, the Pilot Powers are your tire. I love them. | ||

What about the Pilot Sport? They look like they fall somewhere in the middle between the Pilot Power and the Pilot Road. | ||

I ran sports on my bolt before i sold the bike. Huge handling improvement and turn in ability. FLICK FLICK was super easy......as if it wasn't easy before. I know a guy that rides a DUCK996 and he uses the same tire, he rides a bit more aggressive than i do and his only complaint was that he thought they took a bit to hook up.....i personally never had a problem with the tires hot or cold, hell i even ran them all winter long through snow,sand and rain and they stuck like glue. As far as miles go, i had about 3k on them and it looked as if i could have easily doubled that. I did do a large amount of high speed accels and some pretty aggressive braking, also i took long trips with 2Up riding. My front tire looked as if it had never even warn other than the little nubs. | ||

Justice, The pilot Power is an excellent choice for the XB. I have just over 2000 miles on mine with a combination of highway and pretty aggressive riding when we went to Northwestern Arkansas a few weeks ago. They stick like glue and are wearing like iron!! I'm looking forward to a track day in August but I dought that I'll be disappointed! I'd never had any problems with the 207's on the road or track but the Michelins are far superior in wear and grip, they're worth the investment. | ||
