I used to race Can-AM motocross bikes in the early 80's before i switched to Honda, they used Rotax 2 cycle engines . Very Fast , Very reliable as dirt bikes are concerned .
Bombardiar is a huge company I think a joint venture between them and Buell would be a positive one the only thing standing in the way in my opinion is the lack of Buell Educated Sales people and Dealer's who 'really' want to sell the Buell Line. Not all Harley Dealers are Bad , Harley of Edison is excellent their sales people ride Buell's but I think most would agree that the majority of Dealers sort of just shove the Buells in a dark corner and try not to draw to much attention to them . What a shame .

I had two ATK dirt bikes in the 1990's that had Rotax motors in them. One was a two stroke and one was a 4 stroke. Both were great. You could do anything to them and they ran great and never broke. Great motors.

Has anyone actually riden a bike powered by a Rotax engine? Call me strange but I think that a great proportion of the Buell feel is the shake the •••• out of you at idle and rattle the windows at speed engine. Rotax and Singer sewing machines go hand in hand as far as I am concerned.

At one end of the Rotax motorcycle spectrum you have the water cooled 650cc thumper BMW uses in its F650 bikes...got one of those. I can't imagine there being a better thumper avaialable...sorry, Blast fans.

At the other end [and probably what you are referring to?] are the Aprilia mills as in the Tuono and Mille. People have been clammering for a V-Rod engine in an XB. Meanwhile, Erik is under the radar wedging the 130 HP Tuono engine in the new XB12ss frame. I'm having a hard time getting my head around the concept of equating a Mille with a race exhaust and a sewing machine.

Wanna go Duc huntin' ?

Buell might be sellin' no bag limit Duc stamps in '07 or '08. Watch for Ducks Unlimited decals on vehicles in the parking lot at East Troy as confirmation.

In 1976, I met a guy who converted his Can-AM 250 motocrosser (an old down-piper) into a Cafe style streetbike. It had clip-ons and rearsets and the bare minimum to be street-legal. It was the first time I ever saw a Can-AM and I'll never forget the cool sound it made as he passed by.

Rotax and Sea Doo are directly related because they are the same company. Bombadier owns both Rotax, and Ski Doo/Sea Doo.

No. It uses 1/2 of the K1200 motor.

What motor is H.D. using in Short Track and TT competition. Are they using the Blast motor for 2005?
