My reaction to the CityX's reveal was, politely, not considerably kind upon my review.

I've found that with both bikes and cars alike
that if my initial reaction is one of disdain,
it is usually upon further study that the machine
starts to grow on me.

That being said, I have tried as best as I can
to transform my 2003 XB9R into a S/T model and
it's reasonably served its purpose but I really
want a functional hard bag system and some more
creature comforts for both my long (100+ Miles)
commute and tours.

I've looked at the Duc Multistrada, the Triumph
Tiger, the FRJ1300, etc., but I really do love
my Buell...

And thus, the Ulysses in black (I really dislike
the overall asthetic in yellow) really starts to
float my boat.

For where, how and why I ride, I think Mr. Buell
and Company really have hit a homer -- it's not
a dirt bike, it's not a S/T bike, it's not a
sport bike, it's...well...

Different in every sense.

I bought a Buell because it didn't fit in and
that, perhaps, reflects upon me...I don't fit
comfortably within a single box.

I'm going to get killed on my trade-in given
all I've done to my 9R, but I really want this
bike.

Chris

You're not alone Chris.

I've been eying dual sports for a while and have recently been considering a visit to the KTM dealer. I was thinking about a 640LC4, until I saw the price.

I have to wait until next year, but I'll have one. With the bags of course!

This is one very, VERY cool bike!

Chris, it sounds as though you have found a bike that you really like! Hope fully you will not suffer too greatly when it comes time to trade in your current ride.

I just traded in my '03 F150 SuperCrew for a new Jetta for my wife to drive. The Ford had 13,500 miles on it, and was in excellent condition.

I took a (big) loss. Oh well. I am over it, and my wife is much happier driving the small VW. I hope you enjoy the new bike even more than my wife does her Jetta.

New.

Bike.

What is there not to like? : D

So what if you lose a little (or a lot) on trade-in. If this is the bike for you, and from what I know of you from past posts it is, then I say go for it. It'll be worth it.
If it's within your means, what's stopping you?
Go now. Don't walk, run to your favorite dealer & order one of those badarse, do-all Buells & own all the corners.
If my bike wasn't already the perfect bike for my needs, I'd do just the same.
