I was going over my Blast today and putting rubber "washers", that I had fabbed from rubber tubing, in the footpegs and the rear brake linkage so I get less clattering when the bike is running. I was looking around and noticed that there are a number of hoses that are rubbing against something or other...particularly on the right side behind the oil filter, and the mass of hoses that runs up behing the crankcase. I put the necessary hose clamps and/or zip-ties to reinforce the ares of wear. Also I removed the front belt guard and am in the process of trimming (Hello Dremel tool!!!) the front to give the bundle of hoses more clearance (look at your front belt guard near the front pulley and you'll see what I mean.) There was no urgent matter that needed attention, but a stitch in time saves nine right? Check your hoses and wires, guys!!!! | ||

Thanks for the tip JLB, Another spot to check is for those of you running the stock air box, loor at the right hand side of the bike, there the same bundle of wires pases by the starter and the airbox. The airbox sometimes rubs on the wiring and hoses there and cuts them. | ||

I hauled mine up with a hook in the top of the rear shock mount and a strap under the handle bar between the mounts... Then I used a hydraulic table with 2 wooden slats to take the rock out of the muffler with two safety straps.... the muffler supports the weight of the bike fine |
