I haven't ridden the Buell to work in a while, just some weekend rides. The two times I have taken it to work and ridden home and wheel it into the garage. My wife and kids have alerted me that both times the garage REEKS of gasoline. Now I have a bad sniffer so I can't notice and I don't see any leaks. I had filled it up the first day of riding. Now I am a little paranoid. I swear the fuel injection is louder now but I don't smell anything. It has been incredibly hot here in Denver too. Any clues? If you read the papers about a screaming ball of flames shooting down the interstate... that would be me! |

I've had the same experience / comments once or twice myself. Not enough times to be able to pin it on anything though. |

There is a gasoline vent tube that will spill liquid gasoline under certain circumstances. I remember filling up my XB9 on a cool night before the Buell Blue Ridge adventure last year. Proudly parked the bike in front of Tilley's with the rest of the guys and watched in dismay as the sun warmed the bike and it started peeing fuel right in front of everyone: how embarrassing:-) Perhaps your bike is doing the same thing? |
