i have a blue 2004 xb9r firebolt xb9r with a race kit for sale, it has just under 3500 miles. very nice bike, dont be fooled by the price, the only thing that is wrong with this bike is that it has a salvage title. it was wrecked before i bought it. it rides fine and would make someone a great bike, im located in central Iowa (ames) i just really need to get rid of this bike before school starts, i need the money, if you are interested email me and i will get you some pictures, isuwalkon@mchsi.com thanks MATT |

Salvage huh. Have you had it licensed since you bought it? Is it possible to license a bike with a salvage titled? What are the laws for that in IA? Thanks for your help. Josh Davis Cedar Rapids, IA 1983 Honda CB550sc Nighthawk |

Post the pictures here! Even if we don't want to buy it, seeing crash damage is good data, so we know how to protect our current rides. |

The pictures are a pain in the @$$ to upload. Here are the few that say anything. Sorry they are so small, but that is the best I could do with the forum restrictions. Josh Davis Cedar Rapids, IA

This is the conversation that the seller and I had with the issues I saw in the images: MY QUESTIONS Matt - I noticed a few things. It would appear that the clutch cable housing is all chewed up. Is there a reason for this? Does it hinder the operation of the cable at all? Does the brake cable look the same? Do the throttle cables look the same? Also, the front turn signals are not stock. Were they replaced because they were broken in a crash? If so, was the front fairing messed up? If it was, are any of the mounts bent? Is the paint damaged? Secondly, you mentioned that there is a salvage title on the bike. Is it capable of being licensed? Do you know what the laws in Iowa are for that? Finally, I have seen these pics on e-bay. Did the bike never sell? Did you have deadbeat bidders? If you could explain why it sold on ebay and is still for sale, I would appreciate it. OK, I think that is all the questions I have for now. If you could send a few more close-ups of anything that is damaged I would appreciate it. Thanks. Josh Davis HIS RESPONSES josh- yea, the clutch cable housing got chewed up a little when it was wrecked, but it works like new, all of the other cables work fine and look normal. the front turn signals were replaced after it was wrecked because the lenses were cracked, also, the upper fairing was rashed up, the tail fairing was rashed, but all of these were replaced using new plastic from BUELL. so they look like new, the upper fairing bracket was broken along with the guages, and also the headlight was broken, but these were all replaced using new factory peices. this bike looks really good, it isnt perfect but if it was the price would be alot higher, there are a couple of scuffs on it that could be easily fixed but this thing rides like new. it is currently liscensed in my name and there is no problem ever getting it licensed, the title is marked prior salvage which means that it was wrecked and repaired, also, the D.O.T inspected it after it was fixed to be sure that it was safe to be on the road again. yea, the bike was on ebay but it never sold, the guy that bought it backed out because he had some financial difficulties and couldnt get the loan for the bike. so im trying a couple of other ways to sell it before i put it on ebay again. my digital camera isn't working right now but i will try to get you some pictures as soon as i can. thanks MATT |
