Does anyone know or have heard if Buell is planning to convert motors to flex fuel to run on E85 or unleaded? is it possible to convert yourself? Where I'm at E-85 is hard to find but may be nice for guys and gals in midwest to be able to run it since they would have greater availability. |

No, I haven't heard about this but I doubt it. Especially with the Blast while it remains carbureted. It is difficult to have a Flex Fuel vehicle that could not easily Flex their fuel-air ratio and have sensors for it. Maybe it will happen on the big Buells or Harleys. Plus, alcohol is real corrosive, and can wreak havoc with the fuel system... Look here about conversion... http://www.e85fuel.com/e85101/faqs/conversion.php http://www.iowacorn.org/ethanol/ethanol_5a.html James |

Jprovo, Thanks for links. Was just a thought what with gas going crazy lately. And closest E85 station to me in TN is about 3 hrs away in Nashville. I'm looking at XB12x Ulysses for next bike but am going to keep Blast.Just too much fun to give up. I don't remember where (might have been on American Chopper) but I believe I heard about a Carb to allow for alternative fuels. I could be wrong though. But since H-D has relationship with Ford and Ford has FFV's H-D/Buell could always get some knowledge from them. john |
