I currently live in East Troy, Wisconsin. I am starting a new job Monday, April 29th in North Carolina (on the coast, still a good 9 hours from Deal’s Gap – but that’s another discussion). Shortly after I start the job in North Carolina I will be sent over to Berlin, Germany for a period of time between 30 and 90 days. If the shipping cost is less than the cost the company would pay for setting me up with a rental car on the weekends, they will ship my 1995 Buell S2 Thunderbolt over for me to use while in Berlin. I am trying to find some Bueller’s to show me what there is to see in Germany and the rest of Europe. I am unsure if I will be able to check my personal E-mail before while in North Carolina, but am sure that once I get to Germany, I will somehow be able to check up on this posting and check my personal E-mail. I am leaving Wisconsin headed to North Carolina the morning of Thursday April 25. If any Bueller’s from or around Germany want to get a hold of me my E-mail is dedsld@yahoo.com or leave a follow up post on Bad Weather Bikers. Thanks, 1313 (Brankin Brehmer) |

2 years ago, my dad and some other members in his club each paid $3000 to ship to Germany. They flew them over on a commercial plane 2 at a time. There were only some minor problems receiving the bikes because they weren't secured well. Things like stator wires accidentally pulled loose. Was just a bit of a bitch finding out 30 minutes down the road that the bike wouldn't run any more. I don't know if they charge by weight or size, but they mostly had touring Hogs. For the 10 day trip, I think they wasted their money shipping, I would have rented, but for 30-90, it sounds worth the stretch. Good foresight on your part. Enjoy the scenery and hospitality over there. Wonderful people. |
