well it looks like my S2s sidestand is about on its last legs. It almost fell over today. Does anybody have the phone number of the guy who would make the new sidepaltes that would use a new model stand? |

B'Dan, What is failing on your sidestand, the sideplate, the detent button, or the arm itself, or something else? Mine seems fine, but then I usually have a 2x4 chunk of wood resting under the sidestand when it's in the garage, and I did pick up a spare (blue) side plate a year or three ago "just in case". I did have a local dealer check on availablility of the RSS/RS sidestands, he called Buell and left a message and never got a call back (Suburban Motors in Thiensville in case any Buell people are reading this), so I assume the RS sidestand is possibly no longer available as an option. |

I have two sets of the billet S2 side plates that use the stock kick stand in stock. They are very pricey at $600 for the set, but I can see why they cost that much...they start life as a very large chunk of billet, and a LOT of aluminum chips get made in hogging them out. I've been meaning to take pictures and post them here for about forever, just haven't been able to get around to it. Ping me at sales at americansportbike dot com if you want to get a set. Also, I just bought the jigs from long defunct TM Components so that I can start building the stainless steel kickstands again. They've been discontinued for quite some time, but I hope to revive them. Al |

Al, Are you talking about the long and low standard S2 sidestands, or the more upright and shorter RS style sidestands that you're going to start building? |

The jig is on the way here now and I'm not sure what it supports. I think it is for the standard post-S2 kickstand that S1/M2/S3/X1's all used, but I still have some research to do. The S2 sideplates were designed to use the later model tuber kickstands. Al |

I'm not really wanting the stock S2 design anymore. One of the guys at Homecoming had a Parkway blue S2 that had a custom made sidestand that utilized a S1/X1 style sidestand and made it sit much more upright. It seems like both the plate and my actual stand are dying as it won't lock into position anymore when leaned on the stand making it very susceptible to faling over if not parked on perfectly level ground. I use a sport-chock to park it in my garage. |

The parts I have are the ones that are on Michael Powells S2 (the parkway Blue one at homecoming). I didn't phrase it well. I meant the stock NON-S2 kickstand that these billet plates use. Here's a couple pictures. expensive, but a worthy upgrade to the bike. Al |

my s2 stand's been fine for this past decade. maybe i just spend less time with my bike *on* it's stand, and more time with it folded up |

Al, How much for just the left side plus getting it powder coated the S2T grey frame color? |

Is it just the angle on the new plate? then does it use the m2 side stand? |

Dan, no selling just the left side, they come as matched pairs. That's the way I buy them, if I sold them that way I'd be sitting on a bunch of right side plates. Rex, I can't tell you all that he does to them that is different than the stock plate. All I know is that they are designed to use the stock M2/S3 type side stand, that they are quality built, and that Mike loves his Al |

Any pictures? What does the polished plate look like against the S2T frame finish or did you get it powder coated? |

Thanks for that - looks good. I think that I would definitely go for a left hand one and get it powder coated but at $600 I'll probably put up with the original.......... for the moment anyway!!!! |
