I live in Santa Barbara, a little north of me is a small town called Buellton. What say we get ol' Erik B. to start an annual get together in the home of all homes for Buell, Buellton! Any takers? |

Been done....Well, Erik wasn't there, but I parked the S-2 in front of the city park with the sign, shot a picture and dangled the idea. But, zeigeist may be the word...at the time I did it, it would be more than a year later before the 1,000th Buell was made, there were but a handful of Buellers in the USA and what is now the 6550 members of Badweb was a handful of guys swapping e-mails. The good news is that you are smack dab in the middle of some dandy riding. |

With a cruise on up to Cold Springs Tavern for a Tri Tip sandwich with live music thrown in on a Sunday. I'll be there. Course I only live a half hour the other direction in Santa Maria and could make that ride no sweat. |

It wouldn't be a "Homecoming" if it wasn't at east troy though. |

Oh man, Ruben, you know how old that Andersen's illustration is? It must date back 50 years, I remember it from when *I* was a kid! |

that illustration has been a permanent fixture for my whole life. like the west coast ocean, just always been there. if anyone has a preferred date to get together please speak up. i will throw out a weekend: july 23 or 24th? small or big turnout makes no difference to me. |

Woz and I and Curt stopped in there on our way to the On Any Sunday Reunion in Newport Beach. Had a couple of bowls of split pea soup, and on we went to Storz Performance world headquarters in Ventura. http://www.storzperf.com/ Quite a day all in all. Jim |

So Rubdoggy, I guess you haven't watched On Any Sunday or been to a live flat track race, hmmm? Seeing a bike sliding sideways around a corner on a bumpy dirt mile track at 120mph is something else. Streettrackers are right up there with Cafe Racers as my favorite form of motorcycles. If you hit this URL you will see many bikes over the last five years I have been posting to my site.... http://caferacers.editthispage.com/pictures/ Jim (Message edited by jima4media on June 20, 2005) |

Well,Rubdoggy....Once a year for quite a few years the Buellers DO come to your town!!!On our annual trip to Laguna Mecca we ride through Mulholland and a few Santa Barbara areas and end up in Buellton at that Hotel right at the freeway onramp. We usually stop on our way out of town to take pics at the north sign the next day.!! |

i'll put my ear to the ground come laguna time! Jima4media, you are correct i have not seen that movie but have seen a tiny amount of tracking now that i think about it. if fact i remember seeing an old triumph there and thinking,"what the hell is he doing to that poor old bike!" i thought it was just for MX dirt bikes. now i get it. |

Jima4media, I was watching Two Wheel Tuesday and they did a section on On Any Sunday. Very impressive. Looks like I missed out on a great time. |

Looks like I'll have to keep an eye out for fellow Buellers coming through the central coast myself. If there is a specific date you come though Buellton, or Santa Maria for that matter, let me know. I'd love to go to Laguna but that just doesn't look like it's the cards right know. Although Hollister is looking like it will have the presents of me and my Firebolt. |
