After trading in my high milage 99 S3T I bought a XB12R Firebolt because I liked the look of the fairing and the amber windscreen but soon got a lot of fatigue and neck strain from the extream riding position on long rides. I recently installed a new triple tree from Heli Modified The 'Tour PerformanceŽ Top Triple Clamp' by Heli replaces your factory Triple Tree, retaining your stock handlebars, hydraulic lines and cables. The new bar position will be 1" taller & 1 1/2" more rearward than stock. Cost $295.00 Takes about 1 to 2 hours to install yourself., Directions say 45 Min...ha ha see it at their websit is www.helibars.com After a few good over 200 mile range rides including a trip to Laconia today for a day at bike week, I am very pleased with the more comfortable position. The addition of a throttle cheater to keep your hand from numbing makes it even easier to sit up and enjoy the cruise. Now with my tank bag and tour rack from Ventura and a the saddle bag combo from Buell I have made my own XB12RT

I have the same thing on my XB9R that the previous owner installed. As you have stated, long rides are very comfortable. |
