I just finished my pasta strainer replacement. I molded a fiberglass part and painted it to match my fire design. It was the last blue part to replace on my XB9SX.

Very Nice! If you ever decide to produce and sell that strainer replacement I'll buy one! I have a XB9SX and I'm gettin' real tired of trying to keep that blue plastic clean and free from scratching. Even when you wash the thing water splashes up underneath the air box cover. If you don't take it off to dry it you end up with all kinds of water spots. Same with the fly screen. Just detailed the bike today, what a pain. |

Tres Joli:-) If I might venture a suggestion, it would be to think about adding a seat cowl with your paint scheme on it. The cowl is available from one of our sponsors, American Sport Bike. Here is what it looks like on my bike:

I dont think it will work with the Skyline Seat. |

Thanks guys! Ejiii, I don't think I will produce fiberglass parts. I did the fly screen and the pasta strainer because I need it and also I wanted to experiment a little bit with fiberglass. It's the first time I do fiberglass parts. Just for fun! Gentleman_jon, I thought about a seat cowl a few times. It's just a matter of time before I'll order one. The one on your bike look good with little shapes in it. I like it! What do you mean 99buellx1, Skyline Seat? |

It's the tall seat that is on the CityX. I could be wrong (Al, paging Al) but I dont think the cowl will fit because of the extra padding in the passenger area (dosn't mean it won't fit with a little fine tuning). |

I haven't fitted one to a CityX seat. But the seat PAN is the same part number so I'd bet it would fit with a little bit of trimming with a dremel drum sander attachment. Those flames are most excellent, best I've ever seen. For those that want to get rid of the ugly pasta strainer but still keep the longer tail for the additional water protection, we offer this part: Available here |
