When I was out on the coast a couple of weeks ago, my newphew Ben was using some skateboard wheels as fork and swing arm sliders. He said that he liked the way they would roll in a low side, and not grab. Said he had "crash tested" the concept on a different bike.
So natcherly when I got home, I started thinking about something that would look cool on "Ol' Yaller". I found these Ricta's on a skateboard site,www.skateboard.com. Nice folks.
Anyway, I mounted these on some 5/16" treaded rod, using skateboard bearings, and some washers to space them away from the forks and swing arm. Total install time: 1/2 hour.
I'll post detail shots if there is any interest.

eh, nice training wheels !
One thought: allowing the bike to roll a longer distance, may increase the chances of it hitting something...?

Cool idea. I hope you never have to test them.

This idea was done to death last summer.
I ended up taking mine off because they end up fading ALOT faster than any of the anodised.
