Just watch E-bay for the stock bread box. I have seen a few go rather cheap. I would then go with the gutted air box set up. Get the Race ECM and slap on your choice of slip on muffler. I run mine like that and it runs just fine(even better with my new force exhaust). As for getting it up in first, you should be able to do a good power wheelie. To get it really up in the air just load up the front then crack the throttle and hold on. |

I agree with Oldog on the way my 2002 X1 pulls. Exactly the same way. Although I weigh a bit more than Oldog and I can wheelie the snot out of that bike. Power on wheelie (no clutch is not a big deal), just needs a light tug and sometimes not at all. Clutch it very easy and you can yank the front end very high (I almost went over backwards the other day). As for when you hear the valve train and intake noise when you crack the throttle, I experience the same thing and it does pull. As to how hard it pulls depends on the speed I am going and the gear I am in. At about 80MPH on the highway in fifth gear I notice a lot of intake noise with very moderate acceleration. Downshift at the same speed and acceleration is hard. Oh, BTW I have stock airbox, ECM and exhaust. 100% stock with about 6000 miles on it. I plan on gutting the airbox and getting a oil catch can, slip on exhaust and race ECM before the end of summer. |

I still havent mastered most of my available willie moves but mine does pull them when I get on it, still experimenting. Exactly my plan too Jeremy , If i can get into it, I have some major house work to do this year, I can only work so much when it gets to be too much the corrections can sometimes be too drastic LOL |

I am still trying to learn what I can and cannot do while I am up on the rear tire. This is the first bike I have owned (ridden for several years on my dad's old machine) and the first bike I have ridden that can wheelie and has this much power. I am grinning all the time while on it. |

Jayb, I had the same symptoms on my 2000 X1 when I bought it used a month ago. I too was a skeptic that the TPS reset could be such an amazing cure. I also like to do all my own work (doing the rocker boxes now). I am now a believer. My bike kicks butt since I had the TPS reset. Cost me a whole $35 bucks. Some dealers even do it for free. |

the X1 is just a weak link in the buell chain along with the blast and s3. you should sell it and get an XB12 you wont regret it. |

Norris: I'll put our 2001 X1 against your XB12, title for title. Let's use the same rider and see which bike comes out on top. 1 Mile Straight Line (Maxon) 2.5 Mile Road Course (Kershaw, VIR) Pro Autocross Course (SCCA Type) Game? |

The board may be seeing a rash of harassment and bad netiquite, There is a derogatory thread in the xb section about buells it was bad enough that Court called one poster to task ( that was entertaining ) Norris may be an innocent victim there as well, for all we know this could some bored 13year old kid wanting to stir it up ,LOL on us We may want to pm our "aquaintences" if an out of character post is made My .02$ Has any one heard from JayB? |

I'm still hear. Couldn't believe what I was reading about x1's from the imposter. Glad to see it wasn't really Norrisperformance. If the rain ever stops, I'll be off to the dealer to try a TPS reset. Hopefully thats all my problem is. Thanks JayB |

Hi guys, 20 bucks later and I am smiling! Runs WAY better. Still not as fast as my S1, but thats not a fair comparison. The X1 just needs an exhaust and race ecm. Trying to find a race ecm cheap. Anyone? I dont want to buy a new one. I still can't believe how much better a simple little adjustment made. I wonder if thats the only reason why the previous owner sold it. hahahah, luck me, sweet deal on a bike, and only took $20 to fix it! Thanks for the help guys! Thats the one reason why I love buells. The owners are all awesome, and willing to always help each other out. Later Jay |

Excellent Jay, Amazing how much that TPS difference makes. Mine is my first Buell experience so I have nothing to compare it with. Maybe I should buy an S1 to compare it to, especially since my FXR blew up yesterday on the way home. |

Jay...That really great news. Just don't forget to get another TPS reset when you put the race module on. |
