This weekend saw a fabulous flurry of Buell activity on the West Coast, with Erik Buell in attendance. Saturday, Glendale Harley Davidson, gave a wonderful demo day and barbeque that lasted all day. Erik was there which is always a treat for everyone. Thank you Earnie, Chris, and the rest of the gang. Sunday, The Willow Springs Motorcycle Club had a full day of racing, and Class nine saw a whole handful of Buells, supported by Glendale and Bartels thundering around the track. I was in my nephew Ben's pit, so I don't have the results at this point, however fastest Buell lap was set by Jeff Eklund on a highly modified Bartels Buell at 1:30:54.Glendale had set up a great barbeque in the pits, and the comradrie among all the Buell riders was just great, as everyone shared information very generously. Any West Coast Buelligans should definitely check out this scene. Friday, they had a track day. I rented a "rent-a-race-bike" from Kelly Bakers, ( I left my own Buell on Long Island), and had an enjoyable day learning Willow Springs where so many bikes and tires are tested, and got to do a few laps on Ben's XB9R. |
