Looking a beater Blast -- new rider, so cosmetics are of very secondary (or tertiary?) concern -- decent operting condition -- prefer Chicago/Milwaukee area no clue what beaters are bringing -- open to suggestions |

Or, you could pick up one of the XB9SLs I have and pass the Blast down, so to speak? |

grin -- good plan Daves (and it was my first one) but the chancellor of the exchequer reminded me that said new rider sometimes changes her mind on a dime -- would rather sink a little dough into a beater and see if the bug stick, so to speak -- if it does . . . . . . |

Bomber- Check with Uke's. They sometimes let the...shall we say, uhhhh..."gently used" rider's edge bikes go fairly reasonable. Of course. you can save hundreds, if not more on eBay, but then you're buying cold, sight unseen and have shipping to deal with. You have to ask specifically about the RE bikes as they don't list them on the website. This info was passed on to me a couple of years ago by one of the salesmen. |

Hal's also has the Rider'sEdge bikes in their used bike alley in the south area of their building. Did JeffB ever sell his Blast? If not then that's one you should consider. |

thaks for the tips, gent's -- used to was, the ex-rider's edge scoots were long gone by the time the snow melted -- I'll check em out, though, and see if the new rider gets the bug bad enough to warrant the $$ |

We have a gently used Black Blast with 788 miles at $2195, some scuffs but not bad, can ship for $100-300 depending on location. We are an independent dealer in San Diego |

Court -- wilco, sir Robbie -- well, I'm lookin fer a beater -- I know my kind, and I also know that a gently used scoot will look like it survive the Korean War after the first month or three -- thanks for the offer, but I"m sure there's a soul who can put a gently used scoot to much gentler use than my daughter ;-} |

that dude is got some nerve asking who you're shipping through. Like he's gonna buy the bike or something. Sorry J, just had to bust your chops. Sorry bomber for getting in on your post, just had to give my bro J a hard time. Someone buy this blast so I don't get tempted to put the ole lady on it and find out who gets used for shipping. Wish I knew who shipped for that before I paid to have my new toy shipped. (Message edited by alpha on May 12, 2005) |

Im new, what does STFU mean? Obviously you cheap skates arent going to buy my Blast so Ill let you in on the "secret" shipping company, Forward Air. Rates are about $48/100 pounds max. You have to crate the bike and deliver to their terminal, about 50-75 of them are scattered around the USA and Canada. You also have to pick up at their terminal or make your own arrangements for delivery by another company. I get a good discount for volume, I ship about 1-2/week and we have crating down to a science. Good luck |
