What problems are you having? I don't know where the starter relay is on mine either, but I started by cleaning all the electrical connections. That seemed to help. I would push the starter button, and it would only click. Push it again, and it would react normal, and start. There is one wire that is on the starter that was half way off that may have been the problem. | ||

I found the relay. It's on a plugin block device on the right side next to the ecm under the seat cowling. There are two plugin relays one for the starter, I'm assuming the other is for ignition. I pulled out the starter relay and gently pryed the cover off, cleaned the points (requires disassembling the spring loaded top point). Reassembled and put the cover back on and sealed with a little silicone gasket sealer. I was experiencing starter click nearly every time on startup. | ||

I'd love to know how this works for you. My M2 may have the same problem. Ever now and then you push the starter button and nothing happens. When that occurs, I'll turn the bike off and back on and toggle the cuttoff switch and try again. It so far has always eventually started, but I would like to know what the problem is. I don't want to be 100 miles from home when whatever it is decides to die. | ||

Next time, instead of silicone sealant, put dielectric grease in the sockets, then insert the relay & reassemble. It does a great job of keeping water out, and is less of a headache to take everything apart if you need to get back in there again. |
