does anyone have some info on where and how the puke tubes inside the airbox can be re-routed. im thinking of making my own open airbox instead of just drilling out the 12 box and the tubes have to go. any info or pics would be great. thnx. | ||

i just put k&n breather filters on the ends and put them under the airbox have not seen any puke come from them yet | ||

You will not see any visible "puke" coming out of the breather tubes in the air cleaner but believe me it's there. I have installed the American Sport Bike air box eliminator which requires rerouting the breathers out of the sir cleaner base. I did not like the suggest set up so I made my own. I will post pictures later. Anyway, it's very similar in theory to the catch can set up but only costs $10 to do. I used a 3/8" I.D. plugged drain tube that fills up with all sorts of water and "puke" very quickly! Now that I see all the junk coming out I don't think anyone really wants that stuff going into their engine. | ||

I teed off both tubes, 2 into 1, routed a single line under the airbox bottom, under the seat, and ended up mounting the filter behind the driver left heal gaurd. If you chop the fuel overflow a couple of inches , you can use the upper heal gaurd bolt backing as a point to zip strip the filter tight to the backside hidding it nicely! As for the pukeing I think that any time you put hot air from the heads into the air box is not as good as having cool air, ofcoarse the crap that comes out is really cr ppy for the motor as well. The puke has alot to do with the moister in the air, temp and how you ride, if you bring the bike to running temp it should burn off the condensation from the inside of your motor. my opinion | ||
