I'm trying to convince my wife we can afford a bike for me. I found an 03 XB9SL in the area. What does the "L" denote? I thought it was a lowered model. If so, how low does it drop the seat? My wife is pretty short (about 5'), and if it is low enough for her to ride also, that will go a long way towards Buell ownership. |

J The L does mean LOW. I have a low model and I would say its around 1.5 to 2 inches lower than stock. While sitting on the bike if you get the Low seat as well your wife will be tiptoed but she will probably still be able to ride it. I'm 5'10 so I have no problem, but my wife who is also 5' is on her tippy toes when she sits on the XB. GO GET THAT BUELL MAN YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!1 |

Jstrain, Make sure that you get the dealer to put the shock and fork spring preloads on their lowest setting when you bring your wife in to try it out. It will make the bike about another inch lower when she sits on it. |
