Hi, So i've got the XB9S with XB12 air box race kit and svvs. TPS has been re set and it pulls like a train. My journey in the morning is about 30 miles through the Cotswolds in to Oxford and then through the City. The bike runs perfectly at high revs ( which its at most of the time ) but when I try and keep to 30, I drop it into 4th running at around 2000 revs and the bike is rough, if i gently increase the throttle say from 20 to 30 its fine. It is just when i try and keep a constant 2000. You State side guys have to understand there are speed cameras here and in town they catch you easy. The traffic is quite heavy, you hop from one car to the next and it doesn't feel as smooth as it should. Has any one else had this problem or is this just the Buell way Cheers Morts |

Try running 3rd gear when your only doing 20 or 30.Sound like your lugging the motor. |

2500rpm minimum, 3000rpm is better and smoother, 2000rpm is just too low to run smooth in some of these engines. "These ain't no Harleys". YMMV. |

2K revs is just starting to get into the lugging area of the motor. Keep the revs up and it will be fine. |

Morts at 2000 rpms you should still be in second Noway in 3rd and don`t even think about 4th in and around town at them speeds... 4th at 2000 good way to shorten the life of your motor at then speeds in and around town |

Like said above, I try to find a gear that will let me cruise at about 3000rpm. It's nice and smooth, and throttle response is good there too. |

I'd agree completely. 2K is lugging the engine. 3k is minimum. At 3,000 rpm: 30 in 2nd 40 in 3rd 50 in 4th 60 in 5th. For 30mph, run it in 2nd if you can, 3rd if you must. But not 4th. |

Yikes! I don't usually go to 3rd until I'm past 40 mph. At 20-30 2nd is the gear for this engine. |
