This is my excuse for not being around for a while. (part of it actually) The band I've been playing with has been on vacation and I've been doing a lot of studio stuff that I will hopefully have up on a new website that I expect to launch this summer. But this guitar has been my main since I received it. It was built by John Suhr. He was the Senior Masterbuilder at the Fender Custom Shop for years. Then he left to form his own company. It plays better than any guitar I've ever used and the quality of the wood is just sick. Alder Body, Quilt maple top, Maple neck and Pau Ferro fingerboard. The frets are stainless steel and the electronics were custom designed to my requests. (it's got a active system that I can fully bypass) If you want world class this is it. It ain't cheap but it was worth every cent. In fact it's so good that I don't even want another one! (which shocks everyone who knows what a guitar fanatic I am) JT | ||

Congrads on finally getting the ax of your dreams. But sadly the addiction is insatiable. 2 months you'll "need" something different for that perfect sound for that one piece. I barely play myself, but my old girlfrind's son got his music degree and is now working for Paul Reed Smith as a neck leveler. I think it's a kind of work for food program. Work and you get to build your next ax. He's happy and is aquiring quite a collection. If you can make a living following your passion, be it racing Buells or playing music, God bless you, it gives the rest of us dreams. | ||

I'm and audio engineer to pay the bills. It's close to home but not quite where I'd like to be. I sold one of my PRSi to get the Suhr. A pretty Custom 24. I never played it though, the cheapy PRS CE24 beat it hands down. It was my main axe for years. I usually do get GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) pretty fast, but I'm seriously done. Just like when I found my main amp. The Guytron in the pic. Two years and I'm still floored every time I turn it on. JT | ||

I gave up after the last Strat. I seriously have no more room in the closet.(five guitars+cases+2 amps + RP7. I'm done. (well, at least until I get a bigger closet) | ||

I haven't bought a new guitar since 1987. have bought a few used ones and they have served me pretty good. I really would like a ESP EC-1000 LTD. I love active pickups (child of the eighties) and that guitar has a super fat tone and a fast neck. my last stage guitar had an extra nine volt batter wired to a switch so I could set off pyro from the headstock.... JD + Pyro + Chainsaws on stage... Ahh to be single again... | ||

I start lessons again tonight after not playing, really playing, in years. I can't wait. I've recently been motivated to start devoting time, each day, to "tuning" me. Gotta be one of the greatest forms of relaxation in the world, Court | ||

I really need to get back into it. I picked up a small 8-track digital recorder Saturday but will probably take it back. Features are a bit limiting. I can accomplish more with a software based system that I already have. Miss playing in a band and had been asked to join one a few years ago, but having a child and a full time job now make it more difficult than I want to deal with. Plus, I'm a morning person. | ||

Heck you can come with me TONIGHT and MEET Les Paul! The Wizard of Waukesha appears every Monday night at the Iridium. Last time I was there, my seat was up against the middle of the stage...I kept having to move my right elbow off his tapping foot. This guy is still GREAT! Plus, sidemen Lou Pallo and Frank Vignolio (tThe Frank and Joe Show) on their Les Paul and DeBenedetto respectively, are among two of the best. Court. . . jusr remembered I had a Gibson Gary Moore Les Paul ad I want signed. | ||

Key is to arrive early, say 45 minutes prior, and just be one of the first in. Keep me posted on your plans ! | ||

I mixed my first CD in a Studio in Waukesha, now I try to avoid it since it's such a maze of tangled roads. As for the Tele shape, I chose it because of the extra body mass. It has all the same cutaway contours as a Strat so you can't tell that your playing a Tele at all. But the extra body mass helps get more punch and a fuller sound. The body is a 4 pound piece of alder, with a 3/16" maple cap. That's about as light as a piece of alder can get, which give the guitar a lot more volume and adds midrange. Maple brightens the sound. I stole elements of my PRS CE24 and my favorite mongrel strat to make this guitar. It's better than both of them though. JT | ||

Cant recomend The Iridum and Les Paul's show enough. Last time in NYC I spent a fabulous couple of hours there with one of the more normal members of the Canefield Klan. If you want to talk to the man or get an autograph go to the late show. | ||

Hey John, Wasn't there a Pensa Suhr guitar made several years ago? BTW, very nice guitar. You need a drummer to record with let me know. I live in Ktown. I have an old 82 Strat with a pair of vintage Fender amps. I have a Princeton and a Vibro Champ. I think they are from about 1969. | ||

Pensa-Suhr guitars were made by John Suhr at Rudy's Music Stop on 48th street in New York. This is where Tom Anderson and John Suhr both got their start making Schecter kit guitars. Rudy Pensa actually forced John to put his name on the guitars or they would have just been called Pensa. I'm always up for a jam session and I've got drums and lots of amps here. (1990 Mesa Dual Recto, 1962 Fender Bassman, Vox Valvetronix 2X12, 1959 Ampeg, and assorted Peavy and Alesis crap) And I love to play Rush! JT | ||

I know of a guy that does a nice impersonation of Geddy although he can't sing. Oh and Shane it seems you can get furniture made out of that stuff as well along with drums.
