V2win,

Don't forget to paint the bread box and fairings. I'm currently drawing up plans for my own custom paint (next winter's project).

No. I keep that kind of stock stuff so that when it comes time to part with the bike I can restore it back to original condition and retain the aftermarket items. Thanks anyway.:)

I made a discovery today . . . while cleaning up the cam cover after trimming it down to within and inch of it's life, I found that CRC Electric Cleaner (and likely other brands as well) loosened and then blasted old oil stains, duct tape residue, and 2 years of road grunge that other stuff didn't budge of my silver-colored powder coated cam cover . . . . . . .

works as well as starting fluid, but cheaper . . . not nearly the buzz, though

What options do I have for tank accents on an X1 if i remove the air scoop and cleaner box? I'm familiar with the CF one from ASB, any others?

Thanks!

Blake,

No S1 yet, i am enjoying the fore-play by looking whats available to make some changes in case i get lucky. Found most of the stuff i want.
I checked the sponsors but only fender elimination kit is for X1 not for S1, i am sure i saw one on a picture her on the board, or can you make the X1 fit for S1 ????
I saved the picture on my computer will try to post here, if i can get the picture posting worked out.

Thx,

Fresh

Call Tat at American Sport Bike, or Derick at Sport Twin. I'm sure they can find what you are wanting.

Is there a pearl blue color that plays with light similar to how the pearl white does? Or am I thinking of the color-shift paints?

There was, on the S-2. It was called Black Saphire Pearl.

The white pearl had blue, gold and rose playing in it. Not sure what the Black Saphire had but the effect was similar.

Ken: Yes, the chin fairing will mount to your M2. Buell will sell you a new one in painted or primed finish. Or you could lay down $$ on the carbon fiber piece. Check with our sponsors, American Sport Bike or Sport Twin (banners at top of page).

Hard to tell from the photo but I would say yes....But I do not think it has the orginal front fender, that looks to be a 96 not 95.. Front brake rotor is 95 though..

Yes.

Fender lost the "axle hole" somewhere in it's life. Tough to tell which that is from the photo.

Im giving serious consideration to using the black sapphire as the main color for my S3T. Although, each day I visualize some other color combo. Time is running out and soon I will have to make up my mind. Aint life grand!

Mikej,

Sport Twin (Badweb sponsor) has the paint formulas for this color. In the sunlight, it appears as a deep blue with shades of maroon where the sunlight glances off it. As sunlight fades, it changes to almost black.

See my profile, along upper edge of tank cover you get a hint at how sunlight changes the color.

Disadvantage is it shows scratches easy.. Also I would not recommend sikkons paint the dealer at least in Atlanta is very hard to deal with...

Jim, yes the X1 chin spoiler will fit.
You will need assorted bracket and well nuts etc but it is an easy bolt on. At your dealer view their parts book for an X1 to see the components.

Well I just can't leave well enough alone. Stripe'r has 2 winshields. My problem is my tall Zero-Gravity makes too much noise around my helmet. THis is true on X-3's but not S-3's due to a different rider windshield relationship. In order to resolve this I have incorporated this NACA duct:
StripersNACA
My intention was to raise the "envelope" of air a little. It seemed beter in my little test ride but, it will take more miles to be sure. What do you all think?

Hey B:

Thanks, just call me have Dremel will travel. I stressed for days on how to do the slicing and dicing. I traced a pattern off the duct and then bit my lip and turned loose the Dremel. After using a tiny, tiny ass bit, I came back with a sanding drum to help the looks. I may opt for the next bigger size duct and then have it painted to match. This duct just has the cut out glue in the bottom.

Ride more, lean more, grin more.
