I’m racing for a charity that I raced for last year…this time I’m kind of representing the Health Sciences Center. I wanted to get this out to everybody to see if you’d be willing to donate some money for the cause (5 children’s charities). There are links below that will allow you to donate/pledge over the internet. Please feel free to forward this anybody who’d be interested in donating.

Donations / Pledges needed for TEAM HEALTH SCIENCES.

Sam Ceridon, a first year medical student who roadraces motorcycles, is participating in a charity event from May 12-May 15 called Racing 2 Save Lives. It’s a charity event where motorcyclists circulate around a racecourse for monetary pledges (Think of it as a “Walk-a-thon” on steroids) proceeds of which will go to benefit FIVE LOCAL CHILDREN’S CHARITIES, include DENVER CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL (see below). These racers receive no monetary compensation and no prizes will be awarded as it is strictly a charity event.

Last year, he and his team-mate of “Po’ Boys Racing” put in over 150 combined laps on a 1.7 mile racecourse (255 miles). This year, due to scheduling conflicts with medical school, he is not able to participate with his old team so, he has formed a one-man team called TEAM HEALTH SCIENCES.

He is asking for your support in the form of pledges. You can either donate a flat amount (say you decide $20…at the end of the event, that’s all you’d donate)

Or if you want to ‘risk it’ you can pledge a certain amount of money per lap. This year, he’d like to log in 200 laps solo…so if you pledge $.20 per lap, your donation would be $40. 200 laps is probably the maximum that he will do this year.

If you are interested in donating/pledging there are three ways to do this:

The Children's Hospital - The Children's Hospital provides pediatric medicine, care and research for sick children and is dedicated to improving the health of children through provision of high-quality, coordinated programs of patient care, education, research, and advocacy.

Family Pathways of Colorado - Family Pathways of Colorado was founded in 1976 (as "Chicago Creek Roads, Inc.) as a foster home for abused children. In addition, their foster care roots have grown to include in-home family counseling, adoption services, and educational programming for children not able to function in a regular school environment.
