I am sure you have this many times before but I will ask anyway. 1 - I am in UK, what RWHP can I expect?. 2 - Will Dyno results differ from those of you guys in US due to altitude? 3 - What ignition timing ,advance curve ect should my engine builder use as a base setting? 4 - What is considered a safe rev limit, that in theory I can use continuously without risk of failure? 5 - Can you advise on anything my engine builder should be doing for max RWHP? 6 - How much time should be spent on Dyno? my spec as below, *NRHS 2004 XL1200R Stage 3 heads, 11.5 comp, Dual plugged, 30 degree squish *Axtell 1250cc Nikasil Cylinders *NRHS Hurricane/CP 1250 30 degree pistons, *Cometic topend kit *Screamin' Eagle 44mm intake manifold *Red Shift .585" Cams * Buell pro series race header * Supertrapp muffler (I think it is from Chevy as used in B2win) * Hsr 45 carb * Forcewinder Xr inlet * Daytona adjustable ignition Thanks - eze |

2 - Will Dyno results differ from those of you guys in US due to altitude? uhm...no, we have sea level and up just as you do there in the UK. A good dtno shop will be able to make adjustments for SAE or what ever the Euro standard is. |

Eze, if Your engine builder does not know all the answers to Your questions IŽd suggest You find another engine builder. Engines of that kind are no playground for beginners. Best luck. Alex |

That's a bunch of compression, what gas are you running.Better set your ignition module at the curve with least advance to keep from pinging.Good assembly and break in ,then dyno tuning for best performance a must. Not surprised to see 115+ HP. |

Take a look at the dyno charts posted in the Knowledge Vault "Dyno Charts" topic. I agree with the Fire Man. |

Ez: I seem to recall reading here that for other than mild or stock motors the force winder may actually hurt your performance I believe that it was Phat J or Spiderman that discovered this interesting fact, what some of the serious guys are running is called the "ham can" this seems to be the best for all out power what you are trying to put together sounds awesome, but the result is the sum of all of the parts. I would hate to think that you shelled out a lot of hard earned money and did not get what you were after, Sorry ez but the thread escapes me .. as a final thought what Alex, FMJ, AND Blake said, and in spades all the best the ol' dog (Message edited by oldog on April 17, 2005) |
