Has anyone tried rigging a low fuel light and sensor? I have a 96 S1 and was getting ready to attempt this, but I would rather not reinvent the wheel. |

You must not be a mountain climber. The question isn't why do it... It's why not. Where is your sense of adventure? |

You could use the fuel level sensor (and lamp) from a fuel injected bike. You would have to figure out how to mount it inside the tank , and get the wires out. Sensor is tiny: ~1" long ~3/8" dia. Discussion of the sensor is here: level sensor |

The question isn't why or why not do it, but why on a bike that has reserve. |

Because it would be nicer to have a light turn on instead of your bike stalling. Thank you, 99x1, for the constructive post. |

I can tell if I am about to hit reserve well before it ever stalls. Thats why I asked why. it really serves no purpose to have the light. |

When the bike spits just reach down with yer left hand and flick it on reserve!!!!!! Last thing you need it to run wires inside your tank unless it came like that!!! |

I'm with Cereal on this one, I'd like to know when I'm about to loose power... Plus the little engine and fuel lights on the x1 tach on my bike drive my sometimes ocd mind crazy, just wishing I could make them work. Maybe I should just find an m2 tach for my x1 instrument pod, would probably set my troubled mind at ease... ...but I do have those lights, if I could just make them work... -Mike Oh, the meds are starting to kick in, I have to get off the computer before I say something embarrassing
