anyone thought of or heard of anyone putting one of their engines in an XB. Think its possible without too many major mods? |

The only thing I think may be a big problem it the transmission since the trans on the XB is cast with the case. |

no really, why? what advantage do you see with a different 45 degree air cooled engine? given that you already have a 1203cc 45 degree air-cooled roller bearing engine with integral transmission, what exactly does S&S offer that might fit or function better? not poking at you, just wonder if they have something bigger, stronger, lighter, or more durable..... regards, dean |

yes, you will run into length issue due to the difference in swingarm mounts and the rear frame mount. On the Tuber engine there is no provision for the rear engine/frame mount. When you add in the thickness of the engine mounting plate the Tuber engines use, you will be adding about 2-3 inches to the wheelbase at the swingarm area. If you are talking about the 160CI drag motors, it will not fit a non-heavily modified XB frame at all, it will not even fit a non-heavily modified tuber frame. For the tubers IIRC 96ci is the largest you can got ans still have it fit the stock frame. Not certain if you could go that far on an XB frame since it fits the engine much more closely. |

Front of the old style case may limit your turning radius - The wheel is gonna hit the motor! |

Why????? Sink some money in XB motor. You'll have a better motor. And the bike will still have value. |
