Spikes design is really exciting. Would be deadly wrong to use it as it is not really Spikes design. This thing can be copywrighted and if not, it is property of the original designer.
Is it possible to use the name Buell with the suffix INDEPENDENT?

I only use the _good_ suggestions (kidding!!).
Here it is again with the enlarged/expanded blue center section:
This one looks cool, but it doesn't meet my goal of completely ripping off the official Buell logo. Personally I think we should have something that looks Buellish. Bad Weather Bikers on its own doesn't really make one think of Buells (at least it didn't for me).
As always, feedback is welcome (especially from Blake, the non-tyrannical moderator who ultimately decides the method we will use to choose an official logo).
I'll work on the perspective text.

Hey Spike,
Wow, it just keeps getting better and better. Of course it isn't my call, but I personally like the newest design the best. Why rip off the original designers idea. Instead, modify and improve their design.
Oh, BTW, if you put (2) of those logo(s) side by side, they'll look like a pair of BadWeb sun glasses. All you need is the nose piece. Then you can put Buell in one and BadWeb in the other. That way everyone will know BadWeb is a Buell site. Or if there's a problem using the Buell name, then spell it backwards lleuB and BeWdaB. <smile>

Jim, the purpose in copying the official Buell logo was to make BadWeB look Buell related. I feel that if a Bueller saw this logo he would recognize it and be more likely to visit this site than if he saw text that said, "badweatherbikers.com." If Buell isn't happy about the idea we (I) could be in serious trouble. However, we are not in competition with Buell nor do we have any risk of hindering their profits through confusion of names. We are merely a BBS consisting of Buell owners who share information and if anything we promote (I hope) Buell's products. I personally would feel much more comfortable if we had some official confirmation from Buell stating that we could use this logo before we went any further.

Sold ... I like it dude ... I think you're on to something here! Make sure you use the newest logo (the full ellipse design) instead of the older one. Inlarge the nose piece (thicken) connecting the glasses too. Then increase the size of that puppy to about 14 inches and put it on that back and front of a t-shirt! I'll take a dozen XL's. Just make sure you change the website address to Buells' and BadWebs'.

Just a personal opinion but I think the new Buell logo is lame. I didn't think the technology exchange between Harley and Ford would extend as far as making the Buell logo look like it came from Ford. Not that I have anything against Ford (I own one) but I like the old logo better.
