Since I am working on my installing new LED's on my bike, I came across these photo's of a CityX that had been done by another company.

Now of course this is illegal to Drive on the street with these lights on (like anyone would ever ride with lights on a bike), but they look cool when parked.

I think that would be nice to have at night. So everyone that wasn't on a cell phone could see you coming. It stands out like a turd in a punch bowl. LOL

I am using a new product that I just started found called hyper-strips

As you can see, unlike the 3 and 4 light groupings of old, these are totaly flexable and lightwight so you only need two sided tape to install them, I installed 2 - 18 light strips in my tail section (orange to match the frame) and they look sweet. I installed a 6 wire trailer connector between the tailights and the wiring harness so that I can remove the tail section easily (it also allows me to turn off all my lights for trackdays)

I then made a polished stainless cover for my battery and am blasting some flame graphics into it. With the LED lights shining on it the battery appears to be on fire. It's a really sweet effect. It hasn't been to expensive for me since I can write it all off as a business expense since I will have the bike on display at the shows I do this summer.

I have to admit that makes the Citi-X's wacky bodywork look really cool. Not the thing for my bike, but still a neat effect.

They retail at around $180 for 2 - 12" (18 light) strips. I actually will be installing a total of over 70 lights when I am finished tomorrow. It gets a little pricy, but it will look sweet...

For some reason, that bike reminds me of something I'd see playing HALO. It's probably the nicest "lit up" bike I've seen, but it's not my taste...

Why is this illegal to have it on while riding at night?? I honesty thought its safer so the dumb drivers can spot you in the dark.

According to Wisconsin law you may only have Amber lights on a bike except in the back where you may have red.

From what I heard you can't have blue or red lights on any vehicle driven on the street. Reserved for cop cars, fire trucks, etc.

As much as it makes you visible, it also makes you a distraction as people are paying more attention to your bike then they are the road. My GF is working on a claim where someone drove into the back of a stopped truck because they were trying to watch the DVD playing in the vehicle in the next lane.

You may want to check out suppliers of computer case mods -- you can get 20 light led strips for about $12. 12VDC 20ma.

I like it. Now they need different colored body parts for the City-X.

Southern Marine, yer age is showing! (Tron?!? Hate to admit it, but I also remember that movie...)

Wycked, reminds me of that guy who had a head-on in Alaska a year or so ago while watching a dvd (excuse me, "reaching for a soda"; ) in his truck while driving on the highway, causing two deaths. He got off, as I recall...

Koz....how's the 6 wire trailer thing working for ya? I had the exact same thought a few weeks ago. Now that I have a Airtech tailsection for track days, I was looking for an easy disconnect for the tail light and marker lights. Any pictures of the set-up?
