I put it on shuffle, turn the key lock on (so no buttons are enabled in case they get bumped) and stick it in the inside pocket of my jacket. The controls are real easy, just the one stick. Push it in, up, down, left, or right. So yeah, you could use it no problem with gloves I think. I haven't tried it while riding yet. I know that some states have laws against using headphones and driving. I would also get the earbud headphones with the remote on the cable, you can then change volume and songs while the iPod is in the pocket. I just don't know how well this remote will work with gloves.
