Hey guys,

So about this snorkel. Will it be removed by my dealer when they install my Jardine or is this a mod I have to do myself and what advantage does that afford me? Does it make the bike sound better? Thanks all.

Chunk it, makes the bike run and sound better. Easy mod, some say you can just reach into the air scoop and pull it out without removing the air box but I couldn't. Remove the seat torx screws by lifting the flaps on the back of the seat. Then remove the 4 Torx screws on the air box shell cover. There are tabs on the air box to remove it and then you can easily find and remove the snorkel.

Tail,
Your dealer won't be in your airbox when installing the jardine. You'll have to do it yourself. Just to clarify, the snorkel is sometimes confused with the velocity stack. They are completely different. The snorkel is a removable piece of rubber that runs down through the frame on the left side as you're sitting on the bike. Pull it straight up once you have your airbox off. Some people don't like the extra tone from the intake. If this is the case, measure down about a quarter inch from the seal, hack it off and install the little nub back into place. It'll direct the sound back into the left side airscoop.
