My newly installed Blinder units (www.Blinder.us), along with an Escort X50. The Escort is also plugged into the block of LED's above the instrument cluster via the ear phone jack. The Blinder units have a LED and buzzer for a warning mounted above right of the instrument cluster with an on/off switch mounted to the left of the instrument cluster.

I've got a V1 and the laser rarely gets signaled here in Maryland, by State police, on the hwys. I figure they are running VASCAR, because they usually have someone pulled over and are standing with a unit pointed down the road looking for more customers. Here are methods they employ: o RADAR (radio detection and ranging) o VASCAR (visual average speed computer and recorder) o LASER (light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation) o ASEP (aerial speed enforcement) o PACING (Certified calibrated speedometer used to match speed of violators vehicle) |

I bought the Blinder off ebay for a lot less than retail. Take a look at www.speedzones.com for a pretty independent report on radar detectors and the Blinder too. I have not run into any laser encounters yet, but law enforcement uses them in this area along with radar. |

Nice setup, just don't go into Canada with that. Rumor has it they will destroy radar detectors on site. I've heard that Iron Butt riders will carry a cheap old junk radar detector to sacrifice at the border so their fancy ones don't get taken. |

Don't worry about the Radar detector in Canada (I live in B.C.) No problem in my Province anyway. I see hundreds on dashboards all the time. Funny, I thought it was the other way around........ |

As for Canada, BC and Alberta are legal for radar detectors, you run into problems as you head further east (Liberal scum territory). I'm wondering if the blinder under the fairing might contact the fender under full braking. Hate to see you ruin that nice stripe work. |

The X50 seems to be working out okay. I still have some development to do with the location or shading of the block of LED's plugged into the ear phone jack on the detector. I bright sun light the amber windscreen cast a orange tint on the LED's and makes them not real visible. They either need to be shaded or moved to the top edge of the windscreen. The only Con I see right now is size, just because the Firebolt's "cockpit" is pretty tight and wires. I have the power cord going into my tank bag hooking up to a cigarette lighter plug in that I plug into a coax power cable jack that is fused and wired to the battery. PRO's I hope to avoid a speeding ticket this year. |

Do you have any more shots of the bike? I've been thinking about getting a screen like that and the same mirrors... If you have any pics of the whole bike from different angles I would REALLY appreciate it . Thanks in advance. |

I've had an x50 for about a year now on my Firebolt (mounted using a radarbuster mount from a ZX). It works great on Ka and pretty well on K. I have everything else disabled except laser, so I don't get many false alarms. BTW: Even though laser jammers are not FCC regulated, they are illegal in CA |
