With diligent care and feeding perhaps by mid spring it will start to grow money? At least some cool parts for my own bike. who knows maybe someday some things will show up on American Sport Bike or something?

verrrrry nice! With some luck, I'll have CNC capability on my Shoptask sometime this year... It definitely won't turn out the kinda work your Tree will, so I'm anxious to see what you make! |

DUDE! If I didn't have 7 vertical machining centers at my disposal(I work 4 miles from my house to boot!), I'd be jealous... Heck, I still am jealous! Good idea with the tooling plate, keep the table clean. But make sure you have properly lubricated the table before mounting that tooling plate! And make sure you use some decent coolant that plays well with aluminum. The coolant we use is NOT very good for aluminum(we cut mostly hardened too steels with H13, P20, D2, and S7). |

I was looking at C&C mills on E-Bay the other day... DAMNIT... One more thing on the list... |

Also, may I ask what you paid for it? Also, have fun writing a post for that Delta 10/20 control If you've never ran a Autocon control, keep in mind, cutter comp is kinda icky on it... Nothing like Fanuc, Haas, Fadal, etc... And nothing like Fidia, which looked ahead 80 lines, and didn't error out when cutting a .499" radii with a 1" cutter. It would just compensate the way it's supposed to! |

Only problem with those things is they "shed" 12 months a year instead of just in the fall. Nice.... |

I bought 18 various cat40 tool holders and the mill with the manuals and such for around $7,000. It was an extraordinary deal IMHO. |

I need to put it in my 14x30 shop in the basement. I have a walkout but I need to grade 4 feet down and put in a new set of double doors into the shop room rather than the family room. and remove a black wallnut tree that's too close to the house. and move my central air conditioner. (that pic is in the previous owners shop) |

Sigh... My machine shop consists of a drill, two files, a broken grinder, a hacksaw, and a little vise. Sigh... |

From small seeds great trees grow. Use what you have, do what you can. |
