I posted this previously on Storm fronts and was advised to repost on XBoard...not working...or here. So here goes. Last Friday I rode my bike ('03 XB9R) in the rain. This was the first time I've ridden it in heavy rain. Once I was off the freeway and stopped I noticed the idle was down to about 850-900rpm. Well below where it should be. there was no lope or stumble and now it seems fine, but I was wondering if anyone else experienced this situation after riding in heavy rain. I'm listening for any advice or suggestion. |

Are you certain that the idle itself was low and not a case of your tach reading low? You mention it wasn't loping or stumbling yet XB's are notorious for that when the idle is below 1000... |

If the tach was reading low would that be from the the water, or would that indicate a more serious problem? Like I said it seems fine now and I did some more heavy rain riding yesterday. The problem didn't repeat itself. |

Hey Mark, ride the shiznit out of that thing already. Wycked, BB is my bro-in-law, who I mentioned may make springfast. I'm so glad you're on here bro. Seriously though Mark. I got water somewhere it wasn't supposed to be while washing it once. It had a hard time idling (low like yours) so, I shut her down and let it dry out. All was well after that. I guess what I'm saying is, don't worry to much about it. It didn't seem to be permanent for me. I do wish I knew where I got the water in though so I could attempt to shield, seal it up... |

"Hey Mark, ride the shiznit out of that thing already." _________________________________________________ No problem there, Bro. Jake and I are definitely making arrangements for Springfast. We may even come out Friday night and bum around saturday. The wives will want us back for Easter Sunday though. Will touch bases later in the week. |
