I went and swapped out the stock front turn signals on my XB9R with some of the smaller Lockhart Phillips arrow style (The ones on the bottom right - http://www.lockhartphillipsusa.com/pages/product-sub3.asp?id=137). Man, they look so much nicer than those big clunky things. I plan on picking up a set for the rear as well.

The only disadvantage, the smaller alignment hole for the base of the stock lights is partially exposed. As I've got black bodywork, it doesn't really show up. Easiest thing to do would be to create some type of filler plate that is the same shape as the stock signal base.

Eh, I always felt Buell got the turn signals right on this one. Every other bike I've seen thus far would need them replaced. I like how Buell's ones have a slight smoked look to them. But hey, each to their own. Those ones do look nice.

You can also take out the yellow inside the turn signals then put in yellow LEDs.

Jelly,
Do you have a number or product you've used to swap to an LED?

when i first bought my bike i dropped it going 5 mph around a corner. no real damage at all just a few simple scrapes. the one thing that worried me at first was the turn signal had popped off. but then i noticed that they're kinda designed for that and that they reattached very easy. i like that design. and my friends and i sort of get a laugh when i'm idling, it looks like they're on the end of slinkys bobbling up and down

Pc, I have the same one's as you, but I got the carbon fiber look.
I like 'em better than stock, although the Buell one's are the best stock one's around. You see 'em on all kinds of bikes.

The Kellerman micro's are pricey, but they are good stuff, quality built. I had inexpensive cateyes on the shop XB for a while, and while their size and shape was OK, it was just wrong. Here was a bike blinged with CF to the max, custom everything, and it had cheap taiwanese plastic turn signals on it (They're about $12.00 a pair).

Look at the picture on our site here to see how small those Kellermans are next to the stock signals (which I personally think are about the ugliest turn signals ever used). Interestingly, the Kellermans aren't DOT approved due to turn signal lens size, but apparently they ARE TUV approved because TUV apparently doesn't go by lens size, they go by visibility, and there is no issue with visibility of the Kellermans. And the Kellerman micro halogens are bright, and the micro LEDs are even brighter.

The metal housing threads into a female thread on the rubber base, and the other side of the rubber base has a male threaded stud. Quality stuff.

Pricey, but worth it to me for a customized bike. And the visibility is tough to beat.

I had looked at the Kellermans as well, but we have state inspections in Virginia, so I was pretty sure they weren't going to pass. Also, they just seemed to small (and too pricey). The shop I bought my Lockharts from also had some led copies of the Kellermans. I think they were in the $25 range.

Personally, I wish there was a more flush style turn signal on the fairing for the XBR. If I remember right, some of the development sketches for the XBR showed a turn signal that was integrated into the fairing.
