I have a pipe for an S-2,it has been down and has a dent and a crack to be repaired at the collector.I did a bunch of work on them today, wetsanding, etc so alot of the prep is done.I may have another set in a couple of days,I will let you guys know. The cracks are right where the carbon marks are. The dent is on the back of the pipe (Message edited by firemanjim on March 08, 2005) |

How is the S2 Pro-Series header pipe different from the 96-98 S1/S3/M2 pro-series pipes? I happen to have a pro-series header from the '98 era that has a minor crack at the collector. Been keeping it around in case something happens to the S2 pipe...although the S2 pipe seems to have a nifty reinforcement and mounting tab welded to the tube just ahead of the collector. |

Probably not different, and neither of mine had any nifty tab welded on.Never had a problem with welds etc. This set was on an S-2 that went down on that side(not mine) and I am sure that cracked the collector as well as giving it the dent.My other set has some very interesting dents from flying metal shrapnel from total motor destruction. |
