Just about finished.
Chopped tail

Like some of you guys suggested, I cut the extra metal off with a hacksaw, then used an angle grinder with a 60-grit flap wheel to grind down the ribs on the bottom and contour to suit. Scuffed it up, primed and painted with a rattle can; I'll either polish it or get it powder coated this spring.

Cut and welded a license plate/turn signal bracket, too.

That is frost on the sides of the frame...it was in the single digits here last night.

Thanks for the help,
Bill

You might need to get some knobby's!
Take some close ups, hard to see details, but I like the position of the turn sigs. Do they vibrate very much?

Not knobbies, but some Scorpion Sync's, maybe. I only got the bike muddy pushing into the storage shed. We've been soaked for weeks.

I haven't even started the bike since getting the tail/bracket fitted, so don't know how it will behave. I do all my projects by trial and error, so it I need to change it, I will.
