I would take it to a dealer... Is it the engine trouble light? |

NOT MY DUCATI MY XB12R BAKE. AND YES IS THE ENGINE TROUBLE LIGHT, BUT NOW THE LIGHT IS OF. ONLY ONE TIME ON. I DONT UNDERSTAND. HERE IN SPAIN ONE PERSON WITH A XB12S HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. ONLY WHEN HE WENT MORE THAN 140 KM/H THE LIGHT WAS ON.ANWERS WERE RESET THE CENTRALITA(CPU) OR PROBLEMS WITH LAMBDA SONDA. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT |

Hmmm... Trouble codes have proven to be very rare on XB's so far. I would take it to a dealer and have them connect the scan tool and check to see what code it is, then reference the service manual to see what it says.... I assume it's still under warranty, so you "shouldn't" be charged anything... That's about the only thing I can think of. Had you made any mods to it or done any work to it shortly before this happened? Please don't reply in all caps... At first I though you were upset with Bake . |

Isn't the engine light yellow and the oil red? |

I had the same problem when my bike was new. The same red light would come that comes on when you turn the key. Usually happened between 50-60 MPH. I would pull the clutch hit the kill switch and coast to a stop, turn the key off then back on, light was out. Immediatly went to the dealer, they ran the codes to find nothing wrong! Told me next time it happens to throttle it and find out what happens. Light comes on, throttle, acceleration. Nothing wrong. Dealer made a note of it in the service record( good idea to have your dealer do this). Never had the problem again, 8000 miles later! |

Engine is red... Oil is red... Fuel is yellow? The one that goes out after the needle sweep is red... I "think" that one is the engine light? The one that goes out just after you start the bike is red... I "think that one is the oil? The Fuel is Yellow. I could be wrong. Have you checked you oil Copo? |

Just a thought. At that speed you're generating serious heat. My rear cyl engine temp sensor went bad and I had the same problem you have when mine heated up. Replaced the sensor and all is good. Have it scanned. |

uh ... geez can't believe I got that wrong. I haven't seen my bike in a few months ... I can only dream of seeing those lights. Of course, you're right M1. I don't believe 140 kmh is a problem. I've done faster than that for 1,5 hours (until I ran outta gas) without engine lights going on. In the summer. Spain currently has cold weather. All the way in the south maybe 10C . Bring it to the dealer to have it checked. |

Outside temp wasn't a prob. What I'm saying is, the temp sensor was broken so it thought it was hot. Make sense...? I was up in the mountains when I had my problem... |
