| Problems/Miles (Please be specific): | 1998 Buell:dropped rear ex valve at 19,000km, crank ran at 22,000km, belt quit soon after repairs, tranny blew 2nd & 4th about 4,000 km later, then front piston disintegrated around 1,000 km after that repair was done. Engine now rebuilt again but no finances to pay up yet, so she's been standing for nearly a year. |

| Favorite Rides (Roads and Routes): | I've ridden her from Jo'burg to Pietersburg and back in a day thru violent thunderstrms and also from Cape Town to Jo'burg travelling at an average of 170km/h but my favourite roads would be anywhere in the Cape Town area, which are a Buellist's dream! You MUST try them one day...great condition mountain roads, thru vinyards, coastal mountain roads and so on ! |
| Why I do/don't ride a Buell: | Ridden H-D since 1968, discovered Buell around 2000 and was hooked! |
| How can Buell improve their motorcycles?: | I figure the factory has got it right with the new XB-12 models, as far as reliability goes, tho my 'new' X-1 seems good so far. |
| Life History/Philosophy: | Been riding since '68 and will ride til I can't any longer. I only ride H-D or Buell, tho I have a tremendously soft spot for...(shudder...Yamaha XT/SR 500's !) I have been the founder/Prez of a biker club for more than 20 years tho I have just recently quit the high-profile side of things. I am also a Land-Rover lover, having had 4 over the last 30 years and my '71 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow works like an orgasm! I'm about to start building choppers again and also hope to get streetfighters up as well. I support my family by operating my own Steadicam rig in film /TV. God's will be done. |
