Performance Mods!: |
|
Problems/Miles (Please be specific): |
Lots of mechanical noise when warmed up. I picked up the bike on 8/11/01 with 850 miles on it. 5420 as of 11/16/01
|
Other Mods/Misc/Customization.: |
Proper jetting. Right now that consists of a 45 slow, shimmed N65C, and the stock 200 main. I may need to come down on the main when the weather gets warm, but for now the bike pulls hard all the way to the rev limiter and doesn't overheat in traffic. I've also installed a Napoleon bar-end mirror. Visibility is much improved, and the bike looks meaner without the stock antenna mirrors.

Favorite Rides (Roads and Routes): |
Route 16 through the Western tip of VA. I found it on the way back from Kentucky. Unfortunately this was before I got my Buell, I did it on my dad's old Virago. It was a _very_ twisty two lane road, I nearly ground the pegs off.
|
Why I do/don't ride a Buell: |
I wanted the do-it-all motorcycle. My first priority was to have fun, but the bike had to be practical. I needed a real seat (for two), and the bike had to be comfortable enough to tour on (I never trailer working motorcycles). I wasn't looking for 150hp and 180mph, I was looking for power wheelies and naked styling. Buell offers all this and more. It's incredibly fun to ride, it's comfortable, it gets 50mpg, it's easy to work on, it's unique, the exhaust rumbles, and it gets attention everywhere. Being an American V-twin is just icing on the cake.
|
How can Buell improve their motorcycles?: |
More storage (under the seat maybe?), bungee hooks, better mirrors (Napoleon bar-ends!). A clock would be nice. Where's the tool kit?

Top speed on 2 wheels (mph): |
What's fun about going fast in a straight line? Ask me something interesting.
|
Preferred engine oil (brand/grade): |
Mobil 1 15w50. I also use a high capacity "dyna" filter.
|
Other: |
I personally would like to meet other local Buellers. It'd be nice to have some sort of local riding group. Feel free to contact me about this. |
Favorite helmet sticker: |
Lord help me to be the person my dog thinks I am. |
