Problems/Miles (Please be specific): |
The bike is cold blooded it likes to back fire and miss when cold. I have 4000 on it and it has done this from the moment I bought it a month and a half ago. Reminds me of an old car from the 70s. This is a machine from the 21st century it should not do this. Fix the FI so it does not surge at slow speed. BMW got dogged for this, they denied it, finally admited it then fixed it. Just fix it.

Other Mods/Misc/Customization.: |
Added lights to see better. A scoop to help cool the motor better. Hand guard extentions for more protection. A larger windshield but it is not big enough, I will continue to look. Ceramic pipes to help take some heat off my leg. A bike bell to say excuse me when passing and hi to Harley riders. They can't figure it out when I ring it as I pull up next to them at a light.

Favorite Rides (Roads and Routes): |
My back yard Hwy 121 and 128

Why I do/don't ride a Buell: |
It is American and will do the things I want a bike to do. I being a true American am pulling for the under dog; Buell is just that. I want to drive this bike for 100,000 miles so I can say, see buells are good bikes. When I finish with this one I want to buy another one that is twice as good and do it all over again.
|
How can Buell improve their motorcycles?: |
Water cooled smoother motor. Put a larger fairing option on the Xb12X. It is a little too small for long distance days. Yes distance can be done but it is not as comfy as it could be. Offer heated grips as well. Add .6 more gal to make a full 5. I want a true 200 miles to a tank. Part of adventure is distance. I do not want to coast off a mountain so that I know I can make it back. Had to do it on North fork road east of bass lake. You are in competition with BMW on this one; step up. I came from there to buy American. By God show the world what you can do. I want you to truly bring a world class bike to the table. I love the machine but it is not going to win bike of the year from any of the rags. It falls short of spectacular, I think you can take it there.
