Why I do/don't ride a Buell: | Specifically the XB12XT Motor: Reliable, hydraulic lifters, plenty of power w/ great torque, easy to work on, sounds great w/ a pipe, 40mpg, unique. Suspension: Fully adjustable and absolutely stellar when tuned to my weight. Handling: Incredible balance of quick transitions and stable handling. Nothing can compare. Comfort: Great Seat, Huge storage, The windblast stock will annoy the heck out of you on long rides. I fixed it with an adjustable screen mount and memphis shades fairing lowers. Works like a charm. Speed: I have owned and ridden stupid fast bikes... the acceleration they are capable of is dangerous on the street and detracts from the fun riding experience. The Buell has plenty of power that is laid out in a tractable and torque rich way. You can leave it in one gear and cruise the canyons with excellent handling and strong torquey roll-ons. Lots of fun! Ease of use: This bike is ridiculously easy to ride! Unique: Not everyone has one. This bike is the perfect balance for someone who wants to commute, go on day trips with the wife, cross country solo, explore the mountains, and look cool. Whenever I think I want more power... or a bigger bike... or the latest and greatest... I will go test ride them and realize my Buell has the best balance of qualities... and the best value. |
How can Buell improve their motorcycles?: | Lets just shoot for that rotax engine in the style of the XT. If I want to go off-road, I'll just park the bike and hike it. Looking forward to seeing that 1190AX. |
