Servicing Dealership: | Hal's HD/BMC, New Berlin, WI |
Performance Mods!: | X1 = Dirt Track Bars, Modified Air Box with Catch Can, Vance Hines Muffler, Race ECM, DFO, Dyno Tune, Battery Cover, Bomber's Custom Frame and Bar End Sliders. |
Problems/Miles (Please be specific): | None mechanically with either bike. However, HD did Goodwill an X1 Shock to replace a defective unit. |
Other Mods/Misc/Customization.: | Wide Glide = Jets, Cycle Shack Mufflers, Dyno Tune and way too much in Bolt-on Bling. |
Favorite Rides (Roads and Routes): | Anything with lots of twisties and elevation changes. |
Why I do/don't ride a Buell: | I loved my X1 and the only reason I sold it was to buy a large bore street tracker or super motard as I thought the cost of convering the X1 was prohibitive. Little did I know, I had exactly what I wanted. In retrospect, I wish I had sold the Wide Glide and kept the X1 as it was the best handling bike I ever had. |
How can Buell improve their motorcycles?: | Now that Buell is History, I wish EBR all the best for their primary mission and hope they come up with some street or dual purpose (adventure touring) bikes with relaxed ergo's. The Mystery behind EBR's Future Models is killing me. |
Life History/Philosophy: | Anything worth having, is worth waiting for regardless who makes it. |
Top speed on 2 wheels (mph): | 145 mph on my Yamaha FJ1200 |
Preferred engine oil (brand/grade): | Purple Haze or something like that. 20/50 Synthetic |
