Problems/Miles (Please be specific): |
dont get me wrong, I love my buell. it did however come from the steallership with a couple minor flaws. wiring left me on the side of the road to much, so I took it all out and did it right, belt drive lasted only 6000 miles, I beleave that can be blamed on the nitrous, so I switched to chain. when that little star shaped thing in the transmision fell apart after owning the bike for only 3 mounths the dealer ship refused to fix transmision because as they put it "it had been modifiyed by me installing 96 S1 body work and nitrous oxide" so my one year warranty was only good for 3 months. stock "2001 M2 low" seat was 14 inches wide and so uncomfortable I could not ride for more than about 20 mins. so I installed 96 S1 body work, which is impossible to paint unless you like blisters so the tank must remain flat black. the switch on the clutch lever came in handy for use with two step rev limiter. the switch on the kick stand came in handy on the shop door for alarm. (first electric kickstand I ever saw) stock shift linkage was a piece of crap. cut it apart and welded it back together so it would work. brake pedal was wrong for me. so I cut it up and welded it back together, the brakes were so so. I wanted more so I got A second rotor, two six piston calipers and a master cylinder off ebay for a total of 74 bucks. made caliper adapters from half inch aluminum. modified rear caliper mount to hold four piston caliper because I felt rear brakes were no good. turns out the brake arm was hitting the frame. oops. some day I may get the forks to stop leaking, three sets of forks and four sets of seals. I must be doing something wrong. I think the shock should be where the battery is. head temp sender told ign. that head was to hot after riding one half mile on a cold night. good thing I had a knife and a cresent wrench. the next day I installed an ign. box with five wires insted of 23. never saw any use for a speedo so mine is on my shelf with 18 miles showing , along with all that stock plastic that the factory must not have wonted me to run because half the bolts were loose. oh yea the bike came from the factory with two different spark plugs and the wrong jets in the carb.
