| Performance Mods!: | ST: DOHC V4 = Doesn't need any. Blast - None - wouldn't help much anyway. . |
| Problems/Miles (Please be specific): | Bought Blast brand new. Now has almost 10,000 miles. Front isolator failed ~6Kmi after hitting a big pothole (Ok, I can understand that)... Isolator failed again at 8,500 miles and again at 9,500 miles - for no apparent reason the 2nd two times. Suspect defective OEM replacement parts. Purchased S3T used with 6,400 miles. Rode it up to 20,000 miles. Front isolator failed 4 times, last 3 failures all occured within 2 weeks and 3,500 miles while on vacation. Final failure lead to head bolt shearing off. (Again, suspect defective OEM replacement parts). So, I sold it. Also, the saddle bags were cracked when I bought it (I didn't realize until after I got it home) due to being made of hard plastic that could not handle the vibration. ST: Bought brand new in August 08 - currently has 3,500 miles and no problems. . |

| Why I do/don't ride a Buell: | Bought a brand new 2003 Blast in 2004 as my first bike because it was cheap and looked easy to ride. Rode and modified it for 2 1/2 seasons and 8,000 miles because it was unique, simple, and just plain fun. Traded the Blast in August of 2006 for the 2001 S3T. Bought the old Blast back from the dealer in April 2008 for my wife to ride - she missed it, and so did I... Sold the 01 S3T in August 08 (See Problems above) and bought a brand new Honda ST1300. . |
