Performance Mods!: | Race kit header, muffler, ecu and air filter so far... Parts bin air cleaner, US spec belt pulleys (soooooo much better!). "Roadracing" air cleaner, Ferodo front rotor. |
Problems/Miles (Please be specific): | <1000 Problem with ET sensor causes occasional missing, could be a bad crimp connector 1500 Pro-series muffler - baffling and half the rivets gone, but easy to repack and re-rivet... it's at least quieter than it was! >>> May '07 update - X1 now has about 20,000km's, generally trouble free since new ET sensor was fitted ![]() Around 30k broke front engine mount, replaced weeping rear base gasket at the same time. Lost count of how many times I've repacked the race muffler, but it sounds great ![]() 1125R - Clutch slave cylinder blown seal, 1,500km's |

Rear guard removed, alloy motocross 'bars (YZ125?). >>> May '07 update - now has chrome bars about an inch lower than standard, carbon fibre tank trims, and belt guards I made myself. >>>2009. Why I do/don't ride a Buell: | Trying to figure out X1 vs. M2... Bought the X1! "Different In Every Sense" Wanted a bike I could keep for ten years and keep customising it to how I want it to be. Ask me in 2014 if I made the right choice. Grin factor! >>> May '07 update - I've had the X1 for three years now, and I still love it!!!!!! >>> July '09. I still love it! It has grin factor in spades, it sounds great, it handles incredibly well, it's fast enough, and it's a "do everything" bike. |
How can Buell improve their motorcycles?: | An XB12S with an R tail and the attitude of an "S1W with race kit" ![]() A smaller version of 1125CR would be cool, or a really hot small hardcore sportsbike. |
