Problems/Miles (Please be specific): | 6000 miles, head gasket oil leak below exhaust, fixed under warranty. Fuel tank breather problems, rerouted breather. (PVHD) 9500 Miles, Broken front isolator mount (the Aluminum Part that attaches to the head), replaced under warranty. (Glendale) 10000 miles, right mirror fatigued an broke at nylon isolator. 12900 miles, drive side bearing spun in rear wheel, head gasket oil leak below exhaust (again). All fixed under warranty and the mirror replaced by dealer free of charge. 13600 miles, left mirror fatigued off at nylon isolator mount, replacement taken from friends spare parts bin. 16443 miles cracked exhaust valve guide damages cylinder head, head replaced under extended warranty (Waterloo). 16710 miles rockerbox gasket leak, replaced under extended warranty (Zook's). 18493 miles rear muffler strap cracked, front isolator torn. Exhaust upgraded to Pro-Series, Replaced isolator per FSM. 21339 Front Isolator mount broken off in head, rocker box leaking, base gasket weeping, being fixed under extended warranty. (Glendale) ~30,000 Miles, fixed base gasket leak, scuffed cylinder with a ball hone, installed new piston rings. Replaced rusting and dented Pro-Series exhaust with a new one. Replaced torn intake boot. 31,000 Miles Dash cracked in half, it was previously damage in a low speed crash. Made a replacement dash out of some scrap plastic. 32,000 Miles diode connection corroded at fuse block, cleaned. 35,000 Miles replaced ignition module. Module was causing a miss at ~70 MPH. ~36,000 Miles replaced kickstand bracket. It was in two pieces. Probably damaged in and earlier crash and finally let go. 37,500 Miles, finally figured out that the annoying rattle that I thought was a loose exhaust baffle was actually broken welds between the exhaust pipe and the rear muffler mount. Lunched another Pro-Series. Since replacements are not available, I'll have this previous two that I've owned welded up. Had a friend lend me one to use for the time being. 38000 Miles, It seems like the second ignition module is going bad. Bike is missing at high speeds, and will miss bad enough to backfire hard. Will replace ignition module with a known good one and see if the problem goes away. Ignition module replaced, and bike fixed. 39,000 lost another mirror to fatigue. About 43,000 miles - Bike Totaled on Freeway - Bent frame. Bike put back together with another frame, still going strong at 53,000 miles. Ulysses 386 Miles - Lost License Plate Light, Appears housing Broke. |

Why I do/don't ride a Buell: | There's something about the Blast that makes it one hell of a bike to ride. I now have 55,000+ miles. The Ulysses Kicks @$$, Tried a few bikes for 2-up riding and the Uly fit my needs the best. 50,000 miles and counting. |
How can Buell improve their motorcycles?: | Higher Performance Single... think 50+ hp. Put a Blast engine in a XB Frame! So far, loving the Uly. It could use a slightly lower first gear. I'll have to get an upgraded license plate light. |
