Performance Mods!: | V/H Slip on, Force Winder |
Problems/Miles (Please be specific): | 7250 miles, Bread Box Air filter housing cracked, replaced with Force Winder and re jetted from a #42 and #200 to a #45 and #200. 7500 miles, Front and Rear rocker cover gaskets, the front was leaking and replaced the rear because I had one. One of the previous owners had already changed the rear already. 8000 miles, Modified the carb by raising the needle 0.050", raduised the vacuum slide and meant to drill the slide out to 0.109", but grabbed the wrong drill bit and oversized to 0.140" No ill effects noticed yet. 9000 miles changed ignition module to Dynatec DD2000-HD2E8P. 9500 miles, experienced detonation after oversizing the slide hole at WOT. After hours of research and several books later came up with the conclusion the oversized hole was creating a lean condition and the Dyna ignition curve 2 was too radical. Found the curve for the stock Q-Curve ignition very mild. It is close to the curve of the Dyna in curve 4 (was on recommened curve 2). So with the old ignition module and new slide (no drilling... yet) the detonation is gone, but throttle response is not what is was. Considering putting the Dyna back on in Curve 4 and drilling the slide to 7/64" The Dyna gets to full advance almost immediately with the VOES on. |
