| Problems/Miles (Please be specific): | Uly X 8K diagnosed with cracked ECM caused by seat rubbing on it. Replaced under warranty. 12K turn signals, heated handgrips, license plate and brake lights not working. Fuse replaced then blown again. Suspected grounding issue, took front then rear end apart, tightened connections, and voila, everything seems to be working again. Heat problem mitigated with Comfort kit/proper riding pants. ECM reflash done. 14k replaced battery. 16k battery losing charge. Want taller windshield to help with wind and EBR ECM for this Uly!!! Uly XT 15 K clunking in front end on hard braking. Took to dealer, steering head bearing and brakes adjusted. 16K, 21K, 32.5, 34, 34.1 36k burnt out highbeam replaced with Sylvania silverstar ultra bulb easily found at auto part store or wallyworld. Blown bulbs seems to be symptom on failing vr. 25K check engine light on, rough running, backfiring, smells fuelly, was throwing error code for IAC. Added oil, cleaned IAC, seems better now. 30K after weeks of sporadic missing and rough running which got worse as the day got warmer, confirmed ECM was cracked. Replaced with EBR ECM and went on a diet  April 2011, Seat bracket cracked was replaced under warranty. Part came in 6 weeks after calling dealer. 35.5 to 36K Intermittent CEL throwing code #16. Installed voltage monitor, trying to determine if stator, VR or both are failing. Replaced vr 7.2013 seems better. City-X-no problems, found a good home. Sad to say good bye to that unbelievably responsive machine. "Buellah" the 05 Blue Blast, Our "gateway" bike. we had no problems but new owner had issues with "das boot". |
| Other Mods/Misc/Customization.: | Both ulys: comfort kit, K & N filters. May get HID's. Have top cases on both bikes now (thanks Wbrissett and andymnelson for the X top case). Did top case light mod on XT, need it on X (thanks Mikef5000 for the instructions). Sold the city x to get ginormous givi side cases for the X and spare pieces parts for both Ulys. Selling blue select seat from 05 City-x, make offer! |
